The Police is an English rock band from London, England. They were formed in 1977 by guitarist and vocalist Sting (born Gordon Sumner), bassist and vocalist Andy Summers, and drummer Stewart Copeland.
Outlandos d’Amour is the debut album by the British rock band The Police, released in 1978. It was recorded at Surrey Sound Studios in Guildford, Surrey with engineer Nigel Gray.
The album was well received by critics and reached number 17 on the UK Albums Chart.
